Sharkbeard is the leader of the Pirates in Gunpowder Island and is one of the main villains in the series.
He hates Ruby due to her being female, as females are considered as '' Bad luck '' in Pirate beliefs, and also due to her being the main reason for Ruben's retirement in Pirating. Which basically resulted in Rubens not being able to travel alongside him.
Personality
Sharkbeard is seen to be extremely self-centred, ill-tempered and greedy. Although despite this, he does have his rare moments where he shows mild care for others and does admit to his mistakes.
Trivia
- In certain episodes, there is an animation error where Sharkbeard can be seen wearing his old hat which Ruby stole from him, for a split-second.
- Despite Sharkbeard's hatred towards Ruby, there are times he is kind-spirited towards her. Such as when he called her a '' True Pirate '' in the episode titled The Pirate Virus.
- Despite Sharkbeard being one of the main villains in the show, he is seen as more of a neutral kind of character. Most noticeably in Season 2.
- Sharkbeard is seen to show a huge interest in poetry. As noticed in the episode titled Poetry Party.
- Sharkbeard is also seen to have a interest for mythical creatures, most noticeably Unicorns and Mermaids. As he tends to have statues of them in his office area.
- In the episode titled Chasing the Chameleon, one of Sharkbeard's crew members mentions it's Sharkbeard's birthday, Twinkle asks this crew member what age Sharkbeard is, in which they simply reply with '' The age of the Captain? ''.
